# Camera and/or Microphone unusable in Windows 10 ## Requirements - Camera Driver is installed - Audio Driver is installed - The devices are correctly listed in device manager ## Check Access If you have this problem, go to "PC Settings", click on "Privacy" and make sure that "Camera Access" and Microphone Access" are turned on. They prevent access to native Windows applications too if disabled. ## Microphone Backdoor Some applications (for example [Audacity](https://www.audacityteam.org/)) allow you to select the recording method. Using "WASAPI" allows you to bypass microphone restrictions. Recording from other sources is always allowed.
